You just have to hear this poem, written by a 6th grade student. The poem is written below, but really, you have to HEAR it to appreciate it full. Steele has recorded himself saying the poem. We are working on uploading the audio.
Fall
By Steele Tamok
Fall
Can call
Many bad things
And mad things
And sad things
But glad things?
This as strange as
Falling off a cliff
It makes you
Want to sniff
Fall
Can make you cry in a stall
Get embarrassed in the hall
Set changes in the…
Mall? NO!
This cant be so
I should go see some guy named Joe
He could describe fall better
Fall
Can make you fall into…
SADDNESS DISASTER INSANITY!
NO that A LIE
Fall
Can make you fly
Or die
Or sigh
Or… JI!
The colors of the leaves…
Deceives…
The fact…
WINTERS COMING!
OH NO!
JAR-JAR BINKS!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I feel like I’m on fire!
And I’m no liar!
Fall
I’m FALLING asleep
Keep me entertained
My lungs are inflamed!
Great now I don’t even know my own fate!
If only I could wipe a clean slate
Maybe I should go see some guy named Nate
Nate
Nate
Nate
Open the gate
It’s freezing out here
I think winters near
Don’t make me fear
The devil deer
And the overseer
I’ll just wait until the room is clear
Fall
Makes the trees stand tall
Billy Mays says get on the ball
Now I say it’s time to make a house call
Fall
Please don’t break my doll
I worked all fall to get it
Well now it’s time for it to go in the pit
Everyone goes and there I sit
Having a fit because of that noisy old git
Fall
Is the end of the Summer
It was getting dumber anyway…
NOT!
Maybe I should go talk to the bus named Gus
What
Is
Fall
Gus
Fall
Is when
I ran into a tree
Got a late fee
Had a cup of tea
Lost my key
Learned the letter V
Father yelled at me
Said gee thanks
When I met Tom Hanks
Yelled at the banks
Broke my propane tank
When my
Sailboat sank
Had a patty cake
Fell into a lake
Realized it was fake
Cried for goodness sake
Thought of the choices to make
Find which path to take
When I
Had a bad day
Went to the bay
Saw a blue jay
Led to my dismay
Had a box of Special-K
Rode the Santa-Fe
And broke my Chevrolet
Fall
